Achates Power is developing a radically different two-stroke diesel engine, which has exceptional fuel economy and power density. The engine is modular and scalable and can be used in a wide range of transportation and stationary power applications. The Company has taken a proven design, and with modern technology, has achieved breakthrough innovations that can capture much of the $250 billion engine market.
Our Partnership
For many years RockPort never imagined investing in new engine technologies, or for that matter combustion technologies of any kind. When we saw what Jim Lemke (Achates founder and CTO) had come up with, everything changed. The Achates value proposition, combined with the growing need for a better path in transportation, caused us to conclude that disruption is possible in this large and increasingly challenged industry.
