Background

Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDTI) is a vertically integrated global manufacturer and distributor of emissions control systems and products, focused on the heavy duty diesel and light duty vehicle markets. Clean Diesel utilizes its proprietary patented Mixed Phase Catalyst (MPC®) technology, as well as its ARIS® selective catalytic reduction, Platinum Plus® fuel-borne catalyst, and other technologies to provide high-value sustainable solutions to reduce emissions, increase energy efficiency and lower the carbon intensity of on- and off-road engine applications.

On October 12, 2010 Clean Diesel Technologies completed a merger with Catalytic Solutions, Inc. (“CSI”, the accounting acquirer) following which CSI became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clean Diesel.  CSI developed the breakthrough proprietary Mixed Phase Catalyst technology which reduces converter costs by utilizing up to 90% less precious metals than a conventional catalytic coating technology.

Our Partnership

RockPort initially invested in Catalytic Solutions (“CSI”) in which it saw the game-changing catalyst coating technology that CSI was developing and backed the Company through the long and difficult market adoption cycles in the auto industry. With major OEMs as anchor customers, timely acquisitions in the heavy duty diesel market and the merger with NASDAQ traded CDTI, the company is poised for the growth we envisioned.
